about
Composed by Luciano Simoncini (1939-2011) for his "Accadde A...." album under the alias Arawak, released in 1970 on his own Squirrel records, Accadde A Bali became well known after Madlib tooks the song to rap "Real Eyes" on it, making Simoncini one of Madlib's best beatmaker.
Today you can find reissues of this extremely rare album on Golden Pavillon records. This official licence offers a well deserved edition to Simoncini's album and a path to listeners of the future.
Medline produced a cover, sticking to Simoncini's composition. Not adding many changes in the mood of the original one but adding some clavinet plus harpsichord chorus parts, and light arrangement. He wanted to keep the same flute flow and so have to respect the song's groove.
The challenge was to keep the same smoky and aerial feeling, but in a personnal interpretation.
To finish the cover work, Medline made a reproduction of the cover illustration on his computer.
